Layered Necklaces

I am loving the look of layered necklaces lately.  Here are a few of my inspirations.

A New Collection

It has been almost a year since I posted on this blog.  Shame on me!

I have decided that I want to concentrate on collecting antique/vintage Chinese jewelry for awhile.  My husband and I visited San Francisco about a month ago, and I spent most of my time in Chinatown.  I purchased a jade bangle and now am obsessed with Chinese export jewelry.  I decided to pick up the book Collecting Jadeite to get me started.

And here is something I am saving my money for.  It is an antique Chinese jade and coral flower.

If I had an extra $10,000

I would totally buy this mouse ring.

Dear Santa

I have been good this year. Can you please put this necklace under my tree?

MKA Halloween Costume

Jewelry for Halloween

Halloween is in a few weeks. Have you planned your costume yet? I like to create costumes based on items already in my closet. This year a fun idea might be to dress up like my favorite pint sized fashionistas Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.

1. Buy a long blonde wig or wear your hair long, wavy, and kind-of messy
2. You can pretty much wear anything in your closet. I think I will go with skinny jeans, a long silk button down, and a faux fur vest
3. Pile on as much jewelry as you can. I would go with the Stella & Dot Serpent Bangle, Snake Orb Pendant Necklace, and Camilla Ring (worn on pointer finger)
4. Carry an antique purse or a large bag
5. Throw on a pair of large sunglasses

Voila, done!

Hmmmm

Not sure why imitation coral and a gold plated charm would cost so much money even on Gilt. I am going to make my own version.
